We'll tell you how you can reduce load times, improve mobile sync and online storage space needed here:
- If you are using Microsoft Outlook:
- Open Outlook
- Click on File --> New --> Outlook Data File

- Choose "Personal Folder (.pst) for Office Outlook
- Choose a folder on your computer for storing the file and continue
- Now you have a new Personal Folder in the folders list below the server online folders
- this folder resides on your computer locally. Click the + sign.

- Now it es easy to transfer (Drag-N-Drop) files, mails or entire folders from the top online folders to the local folders below. They will then be saved on your computer instead of your server mailbox.
- If you do not use Outlook:
- Download and install our own, free interWaysMAIL Zimbra Desktop Application (complimentary, in our Downloads section), available for Windows, Apple Mac and Linux. Very good for your day-top-day emailing, as well!
- Set it up as described in our setup instructions.
- After the initial synchronisation is completed you will find all your emails and folders in the application
- In the folder list, click on "New Folder" (top left)

- As type, chosse "Local Folder"
- Give it a name, e.g. Archive

- Now you can find the new Archive folder in the folder list under "Local Folders"

- You can drag older emails into that folder and thus move them from the online storage to local storage on your computer; that frees storage space on the online server storage. This is ideal for Archiving, as well!
- This Desktop Application is perfect for making backups on a regular basis, see Backups in the Support area.
If you are using Apple Mail:
- Select the Mailbox menu (top). Click on New Mailbox.
- Under location, select On My Mac.
- In the left mailbox folders list (if you don't see the mailboxes list, please go to View --> Sow Mailboxes), you will see the new local folder.
- Select your interWaysMAIL mailbox in the folder list.
- Select te messages you wish to move to the local folder.
- Select the Messages menu, then Transfer. Click the new local folder as a target for the transfer.
